Government ServicesBishop offers complex and unique program solutions to government organizations, at the Federal, state, regional, and local levels. Bishop proactively works with them in deveoping and implementing solutions and successfully accomplishing their mission objectives for environmental compliance and economic solutions for waste disposal, storage, and minimization. Bishop currently provides a full spectrum of hazardous waste management, monitoring, collection, transportation, disposal, and documentation services for numerous mid-Atlantic federal government agency clients. Bishop provides environmental management support for mission critical facilities throughout the dispersed and logistically challenging geographic region Washington DC that result in the generation of diverse regulated and non-regulated chemical and industrial wastes of varying quantities and hazards. The diversity of the hazards associated with these waste streams, demand the highest attention to safety in the work place and well trained professionals in the field. Bishop places great emphasis on safe work practices; and with a continuous robust training program, sets an ideal standard with its Environmental Management System. Bishop provides services on a scheduled daily basis and remains flexible to allow for non-scheduled emergency services as required by most contracts. Bishop routinely communicates with waste generating organizations, (the generators) throughout the region, regarding their waste management issues. Bishop also meets and facilitates the generator's needs for waste storage and disposal. Daily operations include monitoring, inventorying, inspecting, and managing wastes stored at established less than 90-day HW accumulation areas, Part B Hazardous Waste Facilities, and Satellite Accumulation Areas, Bishop ensures all activities are in compliance with applicable Federal, State, Local, and DoD regulations. All HW inventories are tracked on a computerized database for easy retrieval and annual report preparation. Additionally, Bishop staff members prepare and ensure all required disposal documentationrequirements are complete, accurate and fully compliant with applicable regulatory policy and guidelines. All Bishop staff members supporting government contracts have successfully completed the 40 hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) course and are respirator certified. Additionally, all Bishop staff members complete annual HAZWOPER refresher training in accordance with 40 CFR 265.16. Bishop staff members are also trained as first responders, and support the client’s Fire Departments and Environmental/Safety teams in first responses to all hazardous material/hazardous waste incidents during normal and after duty hours.
